In a series of brief lightning talks, the Duke TIP Research and Evaluation team highlights relevant research findings on gifted and talented students. Topics include: professional and personal adulthood outcomes, academic options in high school, the importance of opportunity, role models, and more!

This presentation took place the day of Duke TIP’s Grand Recognition Ceremony, May 20, 2019. Watch the video below to see highlights from that special day, when Duke TIP celebrated the achievements of 7th Grade Talent Search participants who scored especially well on the ACT or SAT:

About Duke TIP

The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) is a nonprofit organization that has served over three million academically talented students in grades 4–12 since it was founded in 1980. Collaborating with educators and parents, TIP helps gifted students assess the extent of their academic abilities with above-grade-level testing, recognizes them for their achievements, and provides them with a variety of enrichment benefits as well as accelerated face-to-face and online educational programs.

    Hi Karin! I have asked the head of our Customer Service team to make sure someone gives you a call so you can have an in-depth conversation about how your daughter could engage with Duke TIP. You should also feel free to call us at (919) 668-9100 M-F during regular business hours if that is easier for you. It’s not unusual for parents to call asking for a walk-through of how Duke TIP works and we are happy to do it.

    hello , my name is Karina, I enrolled my daughter last year blindly because I received notice through the school< i did not know know what the Duke program was but the more I have read into it, the more I an in awe of how much you program provides to these children. The year she received an aware thought the Duke program at school. Needless to say I was completely oblivious to what it meant . Every time I log on and try to understand how this work I simply confuse myself further.r I wanted to know if someome could read out to me and please try to explain at least the part that would beneficial to my daughter. She is 11 years old and is very academically inclined. I feel as if I am cheating her of her pursuing a higher education by being a road block due to my ignorance in opportunities such as these. I someone would be so kind as to please call me when available I would so greatly appreciate it. My name is Karina Acosta and my number is 786-712-5354. I also respond to text messages I am at work or email I can certainly return the call in the event I can not answer to being at work. I ask that if you could please find the time to reach out to me I would be extremely grateful since I feel like I have reach a complete halt in they process.
