Home Alone: Part 2

Is your study animal missing school? Here’s how to turn the tables.

As humans, we can learn a lot from watching animals. And now, thanks to modern technology, we can even watch from the comfort of our own homes. This can be especially useful during times of social distancing. If you’ve got a student at home from school right now and you’re looking for activities to keep their curiosity active, why not suggest they monitor some of the many live streaming animal cams the world has to offer? Whether they’re into fins, fur, or feathers: chances are there’s a live cam for them. Pair it with a suggestion that they research and report on the animals they view and you’ve got an afternoon or more of academic enrichment that’s also fun. Our only caveat is that we cannot be held responsible should any of you working-from-home parents become so fascinated by these peeks into the world of our fellow earthlings that you miss your next Zoom meeting. Enjoy — and please feel free to post any cool animal activity spotted in the Comments section below!
