Note: This book contains scenes of physical bullying that may be hard to read for some, including a beating to unconsciousness.
This is a five-star book. My only complaint against it is that the bullying is unnecessarily excessive to me, but I respect that the author may consider it integral to a character’s development.
One of my favorite parts of this book is the characters. They’re endearing, and they grow throughout the books. The humor has made me laugh out loud; it’s always perfectly placed and hilarious. The world is also very well-built and interesting.
In addition, the book doesn’t tell you what the world is like; it throws you in the deep end in just the right way. The plot is fascinating to watch unfold, and the character development is integral to it. It slowly reveals everything at just the right pace.
Finally, watching the characters’ relationships form and change was wholly entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
