He is a poet, scholar, and spoken word artist who has released three full-length books of poetry and three spoken word albums. He was also a Nasir Jones Fellow in the Hiphop Archive & Research Institute at Harvard University’s Hutchins Center for African & African American Research. And he has taught English, creative writing, hip hop, and Black culture at Saint Augustine’s University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
