Once I depart
the house won’t be the same.
So quiet it has become now that I am gone.
The dogs sit in the window
waiting for me to return. The full house
once filled with laughter and the clutter of my things
Is now vacant and lonely.
My parents sit alone reminiscing of the days
when the house full of noise and
the love of a small boy
who is now grown up
into a man and pursuing his dreams.
They sit alone so proud of the man that
I have become and waiting on the day
that I come for a visit.
