Well, Happy New Year.
We stayed up until midnight.
Now, I am tired.
Well, Happy New Year.
Wait… why am I repeating?
It’s supposed to be New Year’s!
Valentine’s day, yay!
I package sweet little gifts
To give to my friends.
I receive my own
And open them up gently.
A surprise! Gumballs!
Green Saint Patrick’s Day.
Outside, we all laugh and play.
Great Saint Patrick’s Day!
Oh, a merry day!
A contest– I win a cup
With sparkling rainbows.
Drip drop. My swimsuit
Getting soaking wet
Me as well. I wish
The sun was out, so
That I didn’t get as cold.
April showers bring:
Pretty May flowers.
Tulips, pink, yellow, purple.
Wedding peonies.
And magnolias
A beautiful pink and cream.
I love all flowers.
June, the monsoon, and
The wind is a cooling breeze
Welch pool, anyone?
Splash! A party is
Going on in the water
Dry off, and then cake!
The Fourth of July
Fireworks explode up high
In the sky, they fly
Sparklers release heat
They are really hard to beat
When warming cold feet.
August means the hot
Dog days of summer, dragging
On and on and on,
Sirius falling
Behind all constellations
Tryna beat the heat.
Nothing much except…
Jumping in piles of leaves
Falling by your feet.
Raking them again
To jump in again, again
The whole entire day.
The best thing of all
In the cold, crisp, windy fall?
Halloween candy.
We knock at the door
Hoping for some more, maybe
“Trick or Treat!” We shout.
I can almost taste
Tender meat and turkey baste.
A Thanksgiving feast.
Cranberry jelly,
Laid out, freshly cut
Into thin slices.
The chilly winds blow.
Finally, it starts to snow.
Then we go sledding.
Flying down the hill,
We suddenly go quite still.
Inside. Hot cocoa.
