David Frauenfelder, writing as D.W. Frauenfelder, is the author of five novels, a collection of stories, and a non-fiction book on Greek mythology and psychology. He designed Growing Up Heroic: Adventures in Greek Mythology, a course available at Duke TIP's Curriculum Vault, and created The Etruscan Excavation, a mystery-based learning experience for the Duke TIP eInvestigators program. He has written short fiction, essays, book reviews, columns, and editorials in academic journals and newspapers nationwide. His long-running blog, Breakfast with Pandora, concerns mythology, popular culture, and other humane things. He holds a Ph.D. in Classics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has taught at Wake Forest University, North Carolina State University, Raleigh Charter High School, The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, and St. David’s School, Raleigh, NC. Currently he teaches Latin and Greek at St. John’s School in Houston, Texas, where he hopes one day to complete a feature-length film entirely in the Latin language.
